Derya Yıldırım & Grup Şimşek live up to their name, which literally translates as “ocean lightning and thunder”. Born in 2014, and with two albums and an EP to their name, the band have forged a formidable reputation with their exhilarating mix of Anatolian folk, 1970s Turkish rock, psychedelia, pop, and jazz, dishing out new interpretations of Turkish classics and original compositions, all clad in inventive arrangements and bewitching beats. Led by the formidable Turkish singer, baglama player, and multi-instrumentalist, the four musicians will keep you dancing throughout the night!
