Ethno Fridays : MYSTIC MIX, MUSIQUES PERSANES ET AFRICAINES
Season 24-25
As part of the Festival Musique et mystique (Les nuits du monde)
From the mouth bow to the lute, from the Jew's harp to the double flute, from the continuous breath to the ostinato of the bow, four soloists come together for a Mystic mix charged with celestial harmonics emanating from a constant drone.
Tunes of diverse origins follow one another freely as inspiration strikes. Conceived for devotion to saints, the invocation of shamanic animals or the conjuration of aerial entities (bâd /guât winds, or pari fairies), they act to chase away evils and evil spirits, and of course (sic), for aesthetic delight.
Concert organized by Ateliers d'ethnomusicologie and AMR, with the support of the City of Geneva and Fonds culturel Sud.
