The question of mysticism seems more essential than ever in the particularly troubled times we are all living through. A quest for transcendence, whether religious or secular, an intense and intimate desire for union with something greater than oneself – God, Nature, or any other Truth – it transcends differences and divisions. Through music, mysticism encourages us to take a new perspective, both on what surrounds us and on ourselves.

The mystical path, which aspires to the highest realms, is nonetheless deeply practical and human. It appeals as much to the senses and the body as to the mind and spirit. Poetry, music, and dance are its privileged domains of expression, as they provide rich and favorable spaces for its manifestation.

The Festival of Music and Mysticism seeks to echo this diversity by offering a journey inviting audiences to experience intense moments that go far beyond mere concerts: Afro-American percussion of the Orishas deities, Sufi choirs and whirling dervishes from North Africa and the Middle East, devotional Hindu or Christian songs, dancing masks from Tibetan Buddhism, and many other worlds besides…

May this festival, like a journey, inspire joy and wonder.
