FILMAR 2026 Screening of Water for Life

For the 28th edition of the FILMAR Festival in Latin America, Will Parrinello’s Water for Life will be screened at the Cinémas du Grütli—with support from the Agenda 21 Office—Climate Week

This documentary follows Berta Cáceres in Honduras, Francisco Pineda in El Salvador, and Alberto Curamil in Chile—three Indigenous environmental activists. Facing multinational corporations and governments that covet their territories for mining or hydroelectric projects, these activists risk their freedom and their lives to defend water, land, and the future of their communities.

Screenings:

  • Nov. 20 at 6:45 p.m. at Cinémas du Grütli, followed by a discussion with Eirene Suisse and emp’ACT;
  • Nov. 21 at 5:45 p.m. at Cinémas du Grütli, introduced by Nadine Allal, Deputy Director, Ecological Transition/Climate Division, Agenda 21
