FRÈRES 2 MISÈRE (FRÈRES MISÈRE'S NEW BAND)

Les Frères Misère, promise of a resurrection.

In 1995, Frère No (Mano Solo) and Frère Po (Napo Romero) formed Les Frères Misère with musicians from the band Chihuahua, of which No and Po had been members in the 80s.

Based on the observation that nothing was getting any better politically, they decided to spit out their misery and their rejection of the system through a repertoire of late seventies-style punk rock. During the 95 strikes against pension reform, they crossed Paris on foot (because there was no transport) and got together with Frère Tu (Matuszenski), frère Eon (Léon Teoquer) and frère Vik (Slavik Beriaguine) to create and record a dozen demo tracks with frère Rent (Laurent Jaïs), the sound engineer, at the Misère Records studio in Montreuil.

Now, Frère No is sadly no more, but we're left with his (stupid) songs and the memory of his commitments.
Still realising that there's always more to politics than the bottom line, with successive governments becoming increasingly ultra-liberal, an inexorable rise in the far right, and reactive lobbying in all the media, Frère Po contacted his friends Tu and Eon to get the ball rolling again and put the band back together: it would be Frère 2 Misère.
