Ladies First

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Geneva Brass pays tribute to the remarkable women who have shaped the ensemble’s artistic journey through an evening of memorable collaborations.
Built around the concept of "5 × 5"—five female artists, five male musicians and countless artistic encounters—the programme brings together Félicita Marockinaite, Marie-Barbara Berlaud, Charlotte Filou, Lauren Bernofsky and Elisa Shua Dusapin around works by Hector Berlioz, Jan Koetsier and Vincent Gillioz.

Marie-Barbara Berlaud
French violist Marie-Barbara Berlaud pursues a career spanning chamber music, teaching and interdisciplinary projects. She regularly performs with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and numerous European ensembles.

Félicita Marockinaite
Lithuanian harpist Félicita Marockinaite, based in Geneva, enjoys a career across symphonic, operatic and chamber music. Trained in Vilnius and Geneva, she combines sensitivity with outstanding virtuosity.

Charlotte Filou
French-Swiss actress, stage director and writer Charlotte Filou creates at the crossroads of theatre, music and contemporary performance. Active on stages in Switzerland and France, she combines writing, acting and directing with a distinctive dramaturgical vision.

Lauren Bernofsky
American composer Lauren Bernofsky is internationally recognised for her music for chamber ensembles, orchestra and brass. Her expressive and accessible style bridges musical tradition and contemporary creation.

Elisa Shua Dusapin
Born in 1992, Franco-Swiss author Elisa Shua Dusapin lives between Paris, Seoul and French-speaking Switzerland. Her refined and sensitive writing has received international acclaim since her debut novel Winter in Sokcho, winner of numerous literary awards.
