On stage, a story of love, loneliness and desire unfolds. A man and a woman, once lovers, meet again. Yet the two performers interpreting this story do not know each other, have never met before, and know nothing of the text they are about to embody.

Each evening, a new actor and actress encounter one another on stage without ever having rehearsed together or read the script, which is fed to them live through an earpiece. Guiding them is an intimacy coordinator whose role is precisely to organise the physical proximity between performers, establish trust, and facilitate the staging of sexuality in film and theatre productions.

Good Sex reveals the making of intimacy, the choreography unfolding behind the scenes, on film sets and sometimes on theatre stages, allowing bodies to come together in trust and safety. Created by the Irish company Dead Centre, known for constantly questioning the form and limits of theatrical art through unique performative concepts, Good Sex explores not only our contemporary relationship to intimacy, sexuality and love, but also the way the illusion of representation—whether theatrical or cinematic—operates upon us.
