HERMANOS GUTIÉRREZ

Two men, two guitars — and yet it has it all. Alejandro and Estevan Gutiérrez, the sons of a Swiss father and an Ecuadorian mother, grew up in Zurich whilst drawing their musical inspiration from Playas, on Ecuador’s Pacific coast.
From this dual heritage emerged a unique instrumental sound, somewhere between the arid vastness of an imaginary Wild West and the nostalgia of 1960s Italian cinema — with Morricone in the background and Latin rhythms as the foundation.
Their album El Bueno y el Malo, recorded under the guidance of Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys, propelled them onto the international stage and earned them a Grammy nomination. Sonido Cósmico (2024) confirms their trajectory.
Music that sings without a singer — and which continues to take the Antigel audience on a journey.
