To lose your mind!
In this second part of the project on war, the SAT shifts the field of operations to the side of the theater of catastrophe through a virtuoso huis clos.
Howard Barker's theatre does not give gifts. You don't come here to be entertained: sometimes the world even jumps in your face like a wild animal. Even the old legends, from the Bible, are mistreated there. Like here, in this fascinating duel between a woman and a man over territorial but also existential issues. On the eve of the battle, Judith, a young widow, enters the enemy camp to seduce and behead Holofernes, a ruthless and despised general. But which of the two will lose their heads when fantasy, stronger than reasons of state, works to muddy the waters? Which of the ideology or of the body, even if separated, will prevail? Everything confronts each other, confronts each other and sometimes embraces each other in a ruse of words that caress as much as they bite. Magnified by an extraordinary language, "Judith" takes us into the depths of desire. Where, as Howard Barker so aptly writes, "the theatre, uncomfortable under its shroud, seeks to reclaim its confiscated powers".
