In 2026, six friends reflect on the rise of the far right in Europe and ways to resist it. Through a combination of storytelling and role-playing, they reenact the story of Alice and Mad. Alice, who is half Kabyle and half Norman, spent her school years marked by political and racial events that she calls her “Great History of Racism.” As an adult, she reunites with Mad, her childhood friend, who faces administrative instability despite living in France. Together, they decide to enter into a marriage of convenience—an act that is both intimate and political. The group brings this story to life on stage and puts it into perspective, fostering a collective reflection on friendship as a tool of resistance.
*Jusque dans nos bras* draws on the power of friendship, youth, and activist commitment as tools of resistance against discrimination.

We are interested in the work of the Collectif Sur Un Malentendu because it is a collective; because their approach to tackling an issue and developing it through extensive research over time brings other perspectives to light; and because bringing the persistent problem of racism to the stage—starting with a narrative and moving toward a more documentary-style approach— opens our eyes again and again to what we don’t really see even as we’re looking at it.
