From Stevie Wonder to Frank Sinatra – A Night of Jazz for a Good Cause
Lions Club Geneva Nations Invites to a Charity Jazz Concert
As part of the Lions Day with the United Nations in Geneva, the Lions Club Geneva Nations is hosting an extraordinary Charity Jazz Concert on the evening of Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Alhambra Geneva. This event promises to captivate music lovers while supporting a meaningful cause: raising funds for university education in remote areas of Kenya and India.
The highlight of the evening is the renowned Konstantin Kölmel Project, a band celebrated for its modern interpretation of jazz, funk, and R&B. Led by Konstantin Kölmel, a Leo member from Germany, the band features top-tier artists: Nikola Bankov, the Forbes "30 under 30" award-winning star saxophonist from Zurich, and Kilian Sladek, the charismatic vocalist of the German National Jazz Orchestra. They will be joined by pianist Justin Zitt from Amsterdam and bassist Paul Dupont, bringing together some of Europe’s most exciting young jazz musicians for a great cause.
The evening's program promises musical highlights that will move audiences. From jazz classics by Frank Sinatra to a modern interpretation of Michael Jackson’s iconic "We Are the World," the combination of groove, emotion, and social commitment makes this event an unforgettable experience.
Education as a Key to Change
The funds raised will support the initiative Liberating Education, founded by Leos, which enables young people in remote regions of Kenya to access university education. Through an innovative hybrid model, the program combines digital learning with practical skills and promotes local entrepreneurship. Satellite internet allows students in rural areas to access top university content, including from the U.S. Already, over 200 young people are studying in Kenya (Kilgoris, Kakamega, and Kitui) through this initiative, which is backed by prestigious universities and international experts. The proceeds from this evening will help establish new education centers in India and Kenya.
Be part of a special evening that combines the power of music with the importance of education.
