La Cour des Contes Festival: "One Skin Further"

A poignant tale full of derision, hope and humanity where electronic and acoustic music makes the words vibrate as much as the body.

Artists: Sabrina Chézeau, Guilhem Verger / Show for ages 12 and up
Victor doesn't have the teeth of victory. He's not the dream son who lives up to his father's expectations. Instead, he has enormous red patches on his skin and likes to slam with words. He watches the world from the high terrace of the school while beneath the polluted and concreted neighborhood, the earth needs him.
How will they both save their skin? How will youth and the earth unite to ensure that life and beauty prevail in the face of everyday violence?
A poignant tale full of derision, hope, and humanity in which electronic and acoustic music (saxophone, accordion), like a language in its own right, makes the words vibrate as much as the body and movement.
This show was written based on a collection of testimonies and interviews. For an entire year, Sabrina Chézeau, the project leader, met with young people in primary schools (cycle 3) and middle schools. She conducted interviews with parenting support professionals:
• Vanessa Roblette, a psychologist and active member of OVEO (Observatory of Ordinary Educational Violence)
• Lena Feldman, a coach and support worker, member of the Creative Parenting Network.
She also collected spontaneous testimonies from parents, children, and adults who recalled their childhood simply by first sharing the theme she was working on. From this material, Sabrina Chézeau constructed a narrative with the invaluable support of Luigi Rignanese, a dramaturgy consultant.
