Nuit Antique Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary

The Nuit Antique festival: 2 days dedicated to celebrating Antiquity, on September 19 and 20, at Promenade Saint Antoine.

For this jubilee, the heart of the event will beat on Promenade Saint Antoine, transformed into a revamped ancient village. This return to the roots will offer all visitors — young and old — the festival’s essential activities: pottery, ancient writing, forging, antique-style hairdressing and clothing, and the return of coin minting.

Moreover, several new features will mark this anniversary edition:

  • A tent specially dedicated to children, with readings of ancient tales
  • A lupanar reserved for adults (+18), offering unusual and candid conferences on intimate life in Antiquity
  • The grand return of the excavation pit, allowing the youngest to experience the life of an archaeologist
  • A virtual reality stand to be transported directly into the streets and temples of Antiquity
  • And for the first time: gladiators! These arena fighters, a major novelty this year, will face off several times a day in spectacular reenactments of ancient combats.

Love and celebration will be central themes of this edition. Several activities, lectures, and workshops will openly explore ancient topics related to pleasure, seduction, homosexuality, and even ritual orgies, offering a curious, well-documented, and lively insight into the customs of the time.

On the culinary side, the food offerings are significantly expanded: in addition to classics like ancient wine, visitors will enjoy a refreshed menu.

Finally, the festival presents a rich program with guided tours of nearby archaeological sites, as well as the Saint-Pierre Cathedral and the Museum of Art and History. University lectures, ancient music, gladiator shows, and opening and closing processions will punctuate these two days.
