L'envol cuivré des oiseaux
Whazo Brass Band by Jeanne Michard - concert for young audiences aged 5 and up
Originally commissioned by the Jazz à Vienne festival to create a concert for young audiences, Jeanne Michard will present “L'envol cuivré des oiseaux” at the Salle communale de Versoix as part of the JazzContreBand Festival. Jeanne Michard is a musician, saxophonist, and composer. Her musical universe, marked by jazz, is influenced by a wide range of genres, from hip-hop to Cuban and South American music, as well as groove. As both a performer and composer, her collaborations and various projects have led her to write and arrange for different groups, from trios to big bands. Driven by the desire to share the experience of the power of the group, of the collective energy that leads to musical trance, she decided to put together a marching band for her first creation for young audiences. Energetic compositions, tinged with second line rhythms, funk, groove, hip-hop, and sometimes even pop, make up the repertoire of this creation.
