The concert by Marcelo Amaro Band embodies a unique fusion of samba rhythms and the rich African heritage of this renowned Brazilian tradition.
Singer, percussionist, composer, and seasoned sambista, Marcelo Amaro celebrates a career that began over thirty years ago through this program! He presents samba with original works and "classics" blended with Afro-Brazilian rhythms such as jongo, cabula, ijexá, samba-de-roda, and Angola's semba.
A way to trace the origins by following the journey of the African diaspora in Brazil, while inviting the audience to discover how music and dance have continually reinvented themselves through time and space, fueled by the creativity of artists...
