MÉDINE - Children of destiny (acoustic show)

For more than twenty years, Médine has been telling the story of the world through its fractures. With *Enfants du destin*, he returns to one of the most striking series in his body of work: these stories of children caught up in the turmoil of history.

Born with his first album in 2004, these stories recount destinies shattered by the great upheavals of the world: colonization, war, slavery, oppression. But behind the events, there is always a face, a name, a childhood cut short.

David, Souhan, Kunta Kinte, Nour, or Yasser… Whether real or fictional, the Enfants du destin become the bearers of a collective memory. Through them, a historical tapestry emerges where the violence of yesterday seems to converse with that of today.

In this new stage format, Médine revisits these stories in an intimate, acoustic setting. For an hour and a half, accompanied by Guillaume Zolnierowsky on piano and guitar, as well as by Shéhérazade’s voice and cello, he unfolds these stories like a modern storyteller.

On stage, Karinale Lo van Zaouiche makes brief appearances, breaking into the narrative. In these dialogued interludes, words flow, posing questions and casting doubt. History ceases to be a mere account of the past and becomes an inquiry into the present. Somewhere between concert and theater, Enfants du destin creates a hybrid space. A suspended place. A buffer zone where one comes to catch one’s breath, heal memories, and question the cyclical brutality of the world.
