MELINA VLACHOS + DJ Ramin

Melina is a unique universe where Balkan, Eastern, and pop influences collide. She combines captivating vocals, oud, and dance, accompanied by Eastern percussion and a double bass. A fusion of cultures, raw and authentic.

Born into a Franco-Greek family, Melina grew up surrounded by traditional music and dance. She perfected her skills alongside the biggest names in the Greek-Turkish scene, earning her DEM (Master of Music and Diploma of Music) with honors in oriental singing and oud. But her compositions transcend this heritage and brilliantly interweave Balkan folk influences, contemporary arrangements, and a subtle dose of electronic sounds to offer a rebetiko pop sound that only she knows how to create.

With her Roza project, which combines music and circus, she won the Forte Prize for emerging talent in the Île-de-France region. Since then, she has been setting the stages of Cabaret Sauvage, New Morning, Café de la Danse, and more ablaze.

This evening promises to be magnificent, a mixture of poetry and beauty in every note and every movement.

DJ and producer of Swiss and Iranian origins, Ramin is the curator of the Club Salaam evenings at La Gravière in Geneva, and of radio shows on Noods Radio and Radio Alhara. Edits, remixes or tracks inspired by the cultures of Southwest Asia and North Africa (SWANA), Ramin shares with his audience a whole musical repertoire oscillating between Pop, Disco and the bubbling energy of Techno and Bass Music. Versatile and passionate, the DJ invites listeners in his mixes to explore and discover a totally cosmopolitan universe!
