Performance from March 4 to 6 at the Comédie de Genève. On m’a trouvée grandie tells a story inspired by real events, combining theatre, dance and magic.

In 1896, a mysterious patient arrives at the Hôpital de la Pitié-Salpêtrière. Madeleine, who has spent her entire life walking on tiptoe, claims to experience episodes of levitation. There she meets Pierre, a doctor fascinated by unusual cases, who believes hypnosis may hold the key to curing such ailments. But Madeleine refuses to come back down to earth.
Drawing inspiration from a true story, Valentine Losseau follows the poignant fate of women diagnosed as hysterics, torn between the enigmatic grace of surrender and the necessity of resistance. Through a phantasmagorical construction powered by the visual force and illusions of magie nouvelle—a movement pioneered in the early 2000s by Cie 14:20—On m’a trouvée grandie creates a sensory and spectacular dramaturgy, offering audiences a total theatrical experience in which certainty and evidence constantly slip away.
Performed by choreographer and dancer Leïla Ka—whose piece Maldonne was presented at Comédie de Genève in 2025—alongside actors David Murgia and Laurent Natrella, On m’a trouvée grandie merges artistic disciplines into a skilful fusion of storytelling, dance and visual composition. Disappearances, levitations, sudden apparitions and dreamlike tableaux lend this narrative, inspired by real events, the unsettling power of a vision haunted by fascination, doubt and turmoil.
