As a preview, the Puck Collective invites audiences to discover the script for their upcoming show: "Thousands of Sankara" by Alexis Bertin. Accompanied by three actors and original music, we invite the audience on a first journey to Burkina Faso. The drama is based on historical events and testimonies collected in Burkina Faso and Switzerland.
The year is 2014. Aminata, a young Swiss woman of Burkinabe origin, decides to explore the land of her birth. There, the country is on the eve of a popular uprising that will shift the nation toward a new horizon. The memory of Thomas Sankara, the political leader assassinated 27 years earlier, often compared to Che Guevara for his revolutionary vision, awakens both hope and doubt about the country's future. The writing takes us on a journey from 1987, the time of Thomas Sankara's death, to 2014, when his light resurfaces brilliantly. In the twilight of failed revolutions and new breaths of change, Aminata searches for the role she can play in this country she is still discovering.
