A Japanese free jazz/experimental ensemble led by composer, sound producer, turntable player and guitarist Otomo Yoshihide. What John Zorn represents for the New York scene, Otomo Yoshihide represents for the Japanese. After more than 100 albums, including eight with his New Jazz Quintet, Otomo continues to seek a captivating balance between melodic structures and intense moments of improvisation.
