Thursday, November 7, 7pm: Join us for a fascinating round-table discussion on the question: “Is it possible to decolonize museums?

As part of our reflection on the decolonization of cultural spaces, join us for a round table discussion with three experts who will address this complex issue.

  • Carine Ayélé Durand, Director of the Musée d'ethnographie de Genève (MEG), is working for a re-evaluation of ethnographic collections and a dialogue on the restitution of African works of art.
  • Jacques Ayer, museologist, lecturer at the University and former director of the Geneva Museum, works for access to knowledge for all, particularly in the fight against prejudice and environmental protection.
  • Dr. Kanyana Mutombo, political scientist and co-founder of the Université Populaire Africaine de Genève (UPAF), campaigns for better representation of African cultures in European institutions.

This discussion promises to be an in-depth exploration of the challenges and opportunities linked to the decolonization of museums and the restitution of cultural heritage.
