With the release of his magnificent debut album Bright Size Life (1975), Pat Metheny reinvented the traditional jazz guitar sound and has continued to redefine it throughout his career. He has now won some twenty Grammy Awards, making him the most famous musician in the history of jazz. Gaining popularity as a musician is one thing, but Metheny has achieved the almost impossible feat of always getting the highest recognition from critics and artists alike.
