Ilê Aiyê is the first black intercultural movement founded in 1974 in Salvador de Bahia by founder Antonio Carlos Vôvo and Apolônio de Jesus, who are responsible for major social projects and cultivate the traditions and pride of their ancestral African cultural, religious and folkloric roots through the sounds of invocative rhythms and their remarkable artistic presentation.

They exemplify the respect, fraternity, equality and resilience that have won them recognition and notoriety. His Afro-Brazilian style has inspired many great artists such as Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Carlinhos Brown, Chico Cézar, Daniela Mercury, Margareth Menezes, Olodum, Timbalada, Araketu, whose influence continues to inspire musicians around the world. It's a tour of honor, gratitude and recognition.
