Post-migration in art and culture in Geneva
Conference. Tuesday 20th May from 1pm to 9.30pm. In the MEG auditorium. In French only
In a constantly changing world, marked by increased mobility and socio-cultural transformations, post-migration plays an essential role in rethinking the cultural offer and encouraging the democratisation of audiences. By integrating these dynamics into artistic production and dissemination, we are enriching forms of expression and encouraging intercultural dialogue.
Geneva, a cosmopolitan city at the crossroads of cultures, offers fertile ground for these reflections. This symposium will be an opportunity to honour artists, thinkers and collectives whose work questions notions of identity, territory and cultural heritage. Together, we will explore the tensions and synergies between cultural roots and global aspirations, while offering a renewed vision of the contribution of post-migratory dynamics to the cultural fabric of Geneva and beyond.
This conference follows on from our previous initiatives, in particular the success of the September 2023 conference and the 2024 cultural project, such as ‘Mélodies d'ailleurs, échos de Genève’ organised in collaboration with the Université des Cultures de Genève.
This conference is the fruit of collaboration between the UPA, the Department of Culture of the City of Geneva, the MEG, ICAM l'Olivier, LICRA Geneva, INES and AMIC, the association of cultural mediators.
