Screening of the film Power and Resistance
A documentary that illustrates, through real-life cases, how the activities of multinational companies based in Switzerland lead to human rights violations and environmental pollution.
The documentary Power and Resistance: When Swiss Multinationals Destroy Lives, directed by Sven RUFER, features two locations separated by 18,000 kilometers: the Andean province of Espinar and the tropical rainforest of the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia. Two distant regions, yet united by the struggle of their Indigenous communities against a massive mine controlled from Switzerland.
Forced evictions, widespread destruction, and persistent pollution mark their daily lives. These communities resist to protect their lands, health, and livelihoods. Their strength lies in their solidarity, despite deceptive promises and insidious tactics used by the multinationals to divide them. Giving up is not an option.
The film is in Spanish and Dayak with French subtitles (duration: 60 minutes). Free admission, but registration is required to guarantee entry.
