FILMAR 26th edition - Scarf embroidery workshop | Señora Serpiente
Come and take part in a scarf embroidery workshop with Chilean textile artist Señora Serpiente, who adopts a feminist and decolonial perspective.
Paris-based Chilean textile artist Señora Serpiente honors us with her presence. From a feminist and decolonial perspective, she is interested in textile techniques from Abya-Yala (The Americas), which she uses as weapons of resistance and political struggle. Her aesthetic reappropriation of the history of women's oppression takes shape in a variety of media, including photography and her own body.
She is offering two afternoons of free workshops to learn scarf embroidery techniques, a nod to the pañuelo verde, symbol of the fight for abortion rights. Everyone is welcome!
