JazzContreBand / Revelations Collaboration
First set at 9:00 PM — Vagalumes
Sylvie Klijn (vocals)
Paul Gonzalez (guitar, maracas)
Samuel Boutros (percussion)
VAGALUMES means “fireflies” in Portuguese. The luminous singer Sylvie Klijn takes us on a South American journey through her intimate compositions and moving voice. Sometimes nostalgic, sometimes joyful, her songs in Spanish and Portuguese, inspired in particular by Fernando Pessoa and Pablo Neruda, draw us into the enchanting world of poetic Latin jazz.
Second set at 10:30 PM — Baiju Bhatt & Red Sun
Baiju Bhatt (violin)
Valentin Conus (tenor saxophone)
Mark Priore (piano)
Blaise Hommage (double bass)
Paul Berne (drums, percussion)
With one foot in the East and the other in the West, Indo-Swiss violinist Baiju Bhatt creates a bold fusion of jazz-rock, Indian music, tradition and modernity. Together with Red Sun, he breaks down boundaries and blends cultures in a dazzling, multicoloured musical fireworks display, both virtuosic and harmonious.
His fiery playing and impeccable rhythmic precision can also give way to moments of romance and airy elegance.
Two musical worlds, one shared passion: music without borders!
