Two days to dive into the powerful dances of Rajasthan! With Maria Robin, between tradition and freedom of expression, two exclusive workshops at the 2025 Extravadanza Festival!
Rajasthan, located in northwestern India, is a land of desert, music, and nomadic traditions. The Gypsies of this region, come from communities such as the Kalbeliya, Sapera, and Banjara, carry on a vibrant and musical and dance tradition, rooted in festive rituals and everyday life.
A passionate dancer and singer, Maria Robin has trained since childhood with the renowned Rajasthani dancer Gulabi Sapera in Jaipur. She has developed a style that is deeply grounded, expressive, and alive, blending tradition with personal interpretation.
A respected teacher, she has been sharing the dances of Rajasthan across France and internationally for over two decades.
GHOOMAR DANCE WORKSHOP

An iconic feminine dance from Rajasthan, Ghoomar is known for its graceful spins and circular rhythm.
→ In this workshop, you will learn the fundamental steps, rotation techniques, and the collective expression that defines this celebratory dance.
KALBELIYA DANCE WORKSHOP
Sunday, June 15 | 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Fluid, grounded, and expressive, Kalbeliya dance draws inspiration from the movements of the snake and celebrates the vitality of gesture.
→ The session will focus on body-music coordination, serpentine flow, and grounded free expression.
Both workshops led by Maria Robin are open to all levels, with an emphasis on musicality, fluidity, and the joy of movement.
