*Back to the Future*, directed by Robert Zemeckis
1985. Young Marty McFly leads an unremarkable life with his girlfriend Jennifer, troubled only by his family’s turmoil and a headteacher who would be only too happy to expel him from school. A friend of the eccentric Professor Emmett Brown, he accompanies him one evening to test his latest experiment: time travel via a modified DeLorean. The demonstration goes awry: arms dealers turn up and murder the scientist. Marty takes refuge in the car and finds himself transported to 1955. There, he unwittingly prevents his parents from meeting, and must do everything he can to bring them back together, or risk ceasing to exist...
