Tango emoción - Concert by the Orchestre de Lancy-Genève, Roberto Sawicki conducting - Dantong Wang accordion
The Orchestre de Lancy-Genève, conducted by Roberto Sawicki, presents a tango-tinged journey to buzzing Buenos Aires.
With “Tango emoción”, Roberto Sawicki, the musicians of the Orchestre de Lancy-Genève and soloist Dantong Wang take us on a shimmering, mystical musical journey through Argentina, beginning with Julian Aguirre's (1868-1924) compositions “Huella y Gato” and “Aires Criollos”, imbued with the freshness of the original folk rhythms and their popular spirit, even when the harmony, rhythm or counterpoint become more complex, an itinerary which then passes through the famous tango “Por una cabeza” by Carlos Gardel (1890-1935), moving and sensual, then a touch of native humor with “” by Bernardo Stalman (1910-2004), before taking us to the intensely evocative, passionate and vibrant rhythms of Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992), such as “”, “Vardarito”, ‘Fuga y Misterio’, “” and , with the Swiss premiere of two works by Saul Cosentino (1935), a living composer, contemporary and friend of Piazzolla, whose elegantly nostalgic yet hopeful tangos “Como debe ser” and “Fuera de Serie” are a love hymn to Buenos Aires.
