The awakening of the sound archives #29: Wasulu Selecta DJ Set
For an hour-and-a-half set, the guest artists will take us on a musical journey with their personal selections. Temorary exhibition Afrosonica - Soundscapes. June 5th, 6.30pm to 8.00pm.
The records played during this DJ set come from the Marco Botta collection, acquired by the MEG in 2011. This collection includes nearly 5,000 LPs (33 rpm), released on a wide range of labels from around the world, with most dating from the 1960s–70s.
Artists are invited to come and "dig" through our collections a few hours before their set.
Wasulu Selecta
Born and based in Geneva, Wasulu Selecta began DJing in 2001 and soon became a fixture on Geneva's music scene. A pioneer in contemporary and traditional Afro-descendant music, he has shaped the local soundscape through events like the Geneva Sound System, Block Parties, and festivals like Montreux Jazz and Paleo. He is known for his energetic and eclectic sets. His work remains a journey across musical genres. ‘Melody is Memory’.
