Long ago, there were many legends surrounding the discovery of gigantic bones in the soil of Europe and Asia. In 1796, Georges Cuvier was the first to identify the remains of extinct elephants.
Today, science is able to reveal a wealth of details about the life of this fascinating mammal. Come and meet the woolly mammoth, star of the Ice Age!
