Theater: "Signed Betty"

By the Cie des Plaisantes

As part of the Plan-les-Ouates Cultural Season 2025-2026.
Betty Bossi doesn't exist, yet she does. Through her recipes, she writes our memories. A prolific and bestselling author—5 million books sold since 1973—everyone knows her or has heard her name at least once. The notebook bound with metal rings is familiar in many Swiss homes. But who is she?
The scenes unfold, but following a recipe isn't as simple as it seems. There are the instructions and what we do with them. We add our little grain of salt, or our grain of sand. In theater, as in life, everyone has their own inner kitchen. Signed Betty is a tribute to those who nourished us and who are too often confined to the simple figure of "housewife." It's a show that builds bridges between theater, small and large kitchens, our stomachs, and our lives. And don't forget the pineapple on the pizza.
Wave Bonardi and Julia Portier created the recipe. Wave is an actress, writer, and theater teacher, trained in street arts. Julia joined the C Com Comédie collective in 2021 and collaborated with Robert Sandoz on the production.
