Z’Ethnos Village offers a rewarding artistic adventure for children aged 6 to 12. Over five days, through workshops in dance, music, storytelling and visual arts, they will explore the musical imagination of Ancient Egypt and discover the rhythms, songs and dances of southern Italy.
New this year: an introductory workshop in computer-assisted music (CAM), where children will learn how to compose their own music using this essential everyday tool.
All these activities are led by talented artists and passionate educators, supported by a team of facilitators who ensure a warm and welcoming environment.
Ancient Egypt: The Echo of the Nile | Ages 6–8
Dance, music, singing and percussion with Vivian’ Adaya, Françoise Atlan and Ammar Toumi
A unique discovery workshop specially designed for children aged 6 to 8, focused on the ancient arts of Egypt. Music, singing and dance combine in a playful and engaging approach to spark curiosity and inspire the imagination of budding young artists. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the basics of these three disciplines based on their interests and preferences.
This artistic experience will culminate in a small final performance — a joyful moment of creative sharing.
Three passionate and experienced artists will guide the children through this exceptional journey. Ammar Toumi will share the magic of percussion, Françoise Atlan will unveil the mysteries of singing, and Vivian’ Adaya will awaken the body with dances inspired by Egyptian traditions. An experience to stimulate the senses and the imagination.
Small Steps: Songs, Dances and Rhythms of Southern Italy | Ages 9–12
Dance, music, singing and percussion with Salvatore Meccio, Massimo Laguardia and Katia Romano
Discover a magical world where music, dance and drums transport you to southern Italy! This workshop is the perfect opportunity to explore lively rhythms and joyful dances like the Pizzica Pizzica and the Tammurriata. No need to know how to sing or play an instrument — everything is designed for fun! Children will try out drums and castanets, learn simple dance steps, dance in pairs or circles, and sing catchy tunes.
With vibrant drums and cheerful steps, this workshop is ideal for making new friends. Don’t forget comfortable clothes and loads of energy!
Let’s Make Music with the Sounds of the World! | Ages 9–12
Introductory workshop in computer-assisted music (CAM) with Gaspard Sommer
This workshop invites children aged 9 to 12 to play with music from around the world! Using sounds and rhythms inspired by various cultures, they’ll have fun transforming and creating their own pieces. With a computer, sampler and intuitive software, they’ll learn to record, edit and mix sounds like real young composers.
Here, everything is allowed: reinvent music, explore new sonic textures and let the imagination run free. A musical adventure full of discoveries — travel the world through music while having fun!
Hands in the Myths: Visual Arts Workshop | Ages 6–8 & 9–12
Julie Gindre invites you to unleash your imagination and express your artistic talent.
This year, the visual arts workshops will draw inspiration from ancient myths. Using images, children will explore both volume and collage. They will be invited to work in three dimensions with simple construction and modeling techniques such as papier-mâché and salt dough. Once dry, the creations will be painted. Over the course of the week, participants will also collectively design a large-scale mythological collage mural.
These workshops are designed to encourage creativity, curiosity and sharing, as well as foster autonomy.
Journey into the Heart of Egyptian Legends
Enchanting tales for ages 6–8
Gladys La Chiky will transport the youngest children into the magical universe of ancient Egyptian myths and legends. Through foundational myths and captivating stories, children will discover the richness and mystery of these ancient tales.
The First Love Story: The Birth of Osiris
Isis, Goddess of Magic and Healing
Aida, a tale inspired by Verdi’s opera
Nefertiti: Great Royal Wife of Pharaoh Akhenaten
Each day, storytelling will be enhanced with animation, turning each story into an interactive and surprising experience!
A Memorable Musical Finale
The Geneva-based duo NPQ will perform a musical show for the children to close the week. But that’s not all — the young artists will also share their cultural journey in a special concert for parents. A unique moment where music brings generations together.
