Women of the Reforme
Guided Tour
To mark the Women's Eurofootball Championship, the MIR is offering themed tours in July focusing on the roles of 11 women who have marked the history of the Reformation.
Reopened in 2023, the MIR's permanent exhibition bears daily witness to the important, yet still too often overlooked, role women played in the history of the Reformation.
From the 16th century to the present day, female theologians, queens, activists, and artists have each expressed, in their own way, how they embodied their roles as women and Protestants. Whether they are Marie Dentière, Germaine de Staël, Aretha Franklin, or Leymah Roberta Gbowee, whether famous or not, 11 pioneering figures will be particularly highlighted during these themed guided tours organized for the Women's European Football Championship, several matches of which are being played in Geneva.
