Writing with randomness
- event in French - With the kind help of Noëlle Revaz, you will create images, characters and texts from these random textual fragments.
Chance is everywhere! In this workshop, you will play with chance. Constraints, texts, symbols, visual aids and divination help you to lose control and give birth to words you might never have written without them. With the kind help of Noëlle Revaz, you'll use these chance fragments to create images, characters and texts that tell of something unknown or something deeper. It's an opportunity to discover your imagination and extract unexpected motifs, to leave more room for your intuition.
Noëlle Revaz writes short stories, radio plays, theatre pieces and novels. In 2002, she mailed her first novel to Gallimard, Rapport aux bêtes, monologue d'un paysan (Report to the Beasts, Monologue of a Farmer), which was noted for its literary invention, won numerous awards and has been adapted for the stage and screen. Efina (Gallimard, 2009 and Zoé poche 2024), a semi-epistolary romance, won the Prix Michel Dentan, and L'infini livre (Zoé 2014), an ironic satire of the book trade, won the Prix Suisse de Littérature 2015. She performs on stage with the duo Nomi Nomi. In 2022, she was awarded the Gottfried Keller Prize for her body of work. Latest publications: Hermine Blanche and other short stories, 2017, Gallimard.
