YACINE NEMRA IS WEAK

The Orangerie welcomes Yacine to the outdoor stage. The columnist and comedian presents his first show: a delightful one-man show about failure.

"When I was little, my parents and teachers told me I was special. I could read at 3 and a half years old and I knew the different subspecies of mammals, which allowed me to bluff those around me by giving them information as prodigious as "dogs are canids" when I was in kindergarten. I was definitely destined to become a genius, to mark my generation, to be Plato, Alexander the Great or Moses. My standards were set. And since we only live once, I couldn't afford to become just a teacher, an accountant, or even a successful lawyer, no, I must print my name in capital letters in history.
Now 34, I'm 5'9", I'm coming out of a burnout combined with depression and I'm battling chronic colon inflammation. I don't have an Oscar or a Nobel Prize, and I sometimes wonder if I'm not missing the movie of my life. Or if the lead actor wasn't chosen badly. Shit."

To be brilliant, so brilliant that no one seems to notice !
