What is Geneva Art Week?
Geneva Art Week is an annual celebration of visual arts and contemporary creation, organised by Geneva’s largest association dedicated to promoting the visual arts. Bringing together more than 90 cultural organisations — including museums, foundations, galleries, independent art spaces and design venues — it returns for its third edition in 2026.
Whether you are passionate about contemporary art or simply curious, Geneva Art Week offers an accessible way to explore Geneva’s creative scene, experience art and meet the people who bring it to life.

Geneva Art Week is an annual celebration of visual arts and contemporary creation across Geneva. Geneva Art Week 2026 takes place from Wednesday 16 to Sunday 20 September 2026. More than 60 exhibitions and 50 openings are held at participating venues across the city and canton of Geneva. The central meeting place is Le Dorian restaurant, at Place René-Payot 1, 1204 Geneva.
Many Geneva Art Week exhibitions, openings and events offer free entry. Some activities are available only with advance booking because places are limited. Check the admission and booking details for each activity in the official Geneva Art Week programme before visiting.

Highlights and special events
Art en Vieille-Ville opens Geneva Art Week with a shared evening of gallery openings in Geneva's Old Town. On Wednesday 16 September 2026, from 16:00 to 21:00, participating galleries unveil their new exhibitions simultaneously, with artists present at selected venues. Visitors can move freely between galleries and discover a variety of artistic practices throughout the neighbourhood.
Nuit des Bains is a free evening of collective openings in Geneva's Quartier des Bains. On Thursday 17 September 2026, from 18:00 to 21:00, the district's galleries and cultural institutions open their doors for new exhibitions, encounters with artists and other artistic presentations. The event is free and open to everyone.
Studio Visits offer access to the working and research spaces of selected artists based in Geneva. Taking place from 16 to 20 September 2026, the visits provide an opportunity to meet artists and understand their creative processes, methods and current work. Featured studios include those of Marta Blanc, Gustave Didelot, Salomé Engel, Niels Hung, Carmen Perrin and Clara Roumégoux. Art Tables brings contemporary art into six restaurants in Geneva and Carouge from 16 to 20 September 2026. Emerging artists from Geneva, most of them recent HEAD - Genève graduates, present work in everyday social settings outside traditional exhibition spaces. Participating venues are Le Dorian, Bleu Nuit, Anouch, Tablard, Brasserie Europe at Restaurant du Plaza and Café de l'Amitié.
Art Talks bring together artists, curators, collectors, gallery representatives, institutions and art enthusiasts to discuss contemporary art. On Saturday 19 September 2026 at 14:30, two round tables about Geneva's contemporary art scenes will be led by curator Samuel Gross in the Salle du Catalogue, on the first floor of the Bibliothèque de Genève - Bastions, Promenade des Bastions, 1205 Geneva. Parcours Céramique Carouge is a major contemporary ceramics biennial organised by the Fondation Bruckner. Its 19th edition runs from 19 to 27 September 2026, with more than 90 artists across around 30 venues in Carouge and Geneva, plus approximately 20 free talks, demonstrations, guided visits and introductory workshops. Its Geneva Art Week opening takes place on Saturday 19 September, from 11:00 to 17:00, with exhibitions and encounters with artists across participating venues.
