The AMR Jazz Festival is the must-attend event for lovers of jazz and improvised music. In an increasingly standardized musical landscape, where aesthetics tend to become uniform, the AMR more than ever defends a strong idea of musical freedom, improvisation, risk, the unexpected, and the creative process.
At the crossroads of genres and traditions, this edition will take place at the AMR from March 18 to 22 and will celebrate diversity.
The guest artists come from Switzerland, South Africa, North and South America, Scandinavia, and Portugal: a wide range of territories and sensibilities that have shaped their own improvisational practices and are helping to redraw the contours of contemporary jazz.
The house will be buzzing with excitement, with four evenings ending on a high note at the Lieu central (the reception area) with exceptional DJs: DJ Evita Koné Belama Sounds, Zemzem, the Skankin' Society collective, and DJ Mitch. In addition to his set, DJ Mitch will give a lecture on jazz in 1958.
