Apéropéra #7 : About Stabat Mater

The Geneva-based ensemble Les Argonautes has been invited to the Cathédrale Saint-Pierre to respond to Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater with Johann Sebastian Bach’s cantata BWV 1083 Tilge, Höcheter, meine Sünden. Composed in the 1740s, this cantata, based on Psalm 51, pastiche and honours the music of the Neapolitan composer who died in 1736.
