At the beginning of December, the skies turn grey and the cold creeps in… But the festive season also approaches, so what better way to warm your heart and plunge into the warm and comforting atmosphere of Christmas than with a concert? In the majestic setting of Geneva’s Basilique Notre- Dame, the artists of the Chœur du Grand Théâtre, led by their director Mark Biggins, invite you to explore the different eras and cultures making up the Christmas song repertoire. From the English tradition with its Christmas carols, to the French repertoire, via sacred music and folk song, Christmas songs transcend genres and eras in their evocations of joy, generosity and sharing. With its artistic excellence and faultless cohesion, the Chœur du Grand Théâtre promises to capture the full richness of these songs, amid an atmosphere rich in emotion. The sound of sleigh bells is already in the air, together with the scent of pine trees and mulled wine… We look forward to celebrating the festive season together through music!
