#cine Genève is hosting a special screening of the avant-garde film NIGHTSHIFT, in collaboration with Loreley Films. The screening will be followed by a discussion with filmmaker Callisto McNulty.

#cine, the organization that promotes cinema by and for young people, is offering a one-time screening in June of Robina Rose’s film, restored in 4K.
What the film is about: The receptionist at a small hotel (Pamela Rooke, aka Jordan, an iconic figure of the London punk scene) observes the nightly routine that takes over the lobby as well as the comings and goings of eccentric guests, played by major figures of London’s counterculture scene.Time seems to stretch as this transit space blurs the boundaries between reality and imagination through a series of intertwined narratives that unfold throughout the night. A singular work imbued with a dreamlike quality, NIGHTSHIFT paints a striking portrait of the London art scene in the early 1980s.
UK, 1981, Original Version with Subtitles, 68 min.
