This project was born several years ago, a dream that has waited patiently to come to life. Today, the Galerie du Boléro is finally giving it wings, allowing these exceptional works to return to the light and shine from January 16 to April 20, 2025. Working on this exhibition alongside the family and friends of these five Genevan painters, memories were awakened, reviving the memory of these artists who had left their mark on their lives.
These artists, bound by friendship and deep mutual respect, have left their mark on the history of twentieth-century Geneva painting, while retaining their individual personalities. Each of their paintings reflects a unique period, style and passion. This exhibition is an invitation to all, past and present, to immerse themselves in this prolific period and rediscover these works with fresh eyes. How do you preserve the memory of a painter when he has no descendants or foundation to look after his legacy? It's a question that touches us and compels us to share this precious tribute.
This exhibition is more than just a look back, it's a bridge to the future. A legacy that we want to offer to future generations, so that they too can be moved and inspired by the works that illuminate our walls today, and their memories tomorrow.
Come and join us in celebrating this warm and vibrant tribute to five great Genevan artists.
