Conference by Delphine Reist
Delphine Reist, a Geneva-based artist, works with industrial objects and machines. Removed from their usual contexts, these devices are repurposed to create artworks.
"I have the objects do what they know how to do," says Reist: a steamroller serves as a monotype press (Manteaux, 2024), buckets pouring concrete form sculptures (La Pente, 2023), and oil barrels spill onto white walls, creating patterns (Huiles, 2022).
Her sculptures are autonomous: they move, pivot, explode. Office chairs spin, drills come alive, neon lights flicker, and cigarettes burn on their own. The objects come to life in their own rhythm to interact with spectators and the architecture around them.
The conference will be in French, followed by an aperitif.
