Travel back in time and photograph plants in blue and white by simply using the sunlight

In a cyanotype, the white of a sheet of paper is transformed into blue using sunlight. Everything that is exposed to the light becomes blue and everything that is masked remains white. Come and discover this ancient artistic practice by creating plant paintings using plants from the Botanical Garden.
This workshop is part of the Geneva Botanic Garden Ateliers verts series. On Wednesday afternoons, children are invited to share our passion for the world of plants and botany in a fun and educational way. Themed investigations, sensory discoveries, botanical explorations, and many other activities are included in the programme. These workshops are carried out in the heart of our living collections by our curators, gardeners and scientists, in collaboration with volunteers from Uni3, Geneva's University for Seniors.
