Exhibition by Laurent Faulon and Delphine Reist at the Villa Bernasconi
Delphine Reist and Laurent Faulon have taken over the Villa Bernasconi. They are restoring its domestic character through an immersive exhibition whose title refers to home. By furnishing the Villa with art objects from basement to attic, the artists reinstate the original functions to the rooms but also impart a strange atmosphere. Automated movements, piles of objects, scale games and hostile presences contribute to a growing sense of unease.
Laurent Faulon transforms the house, a normally protective place, into an ambiguous one which causes anxiety, even fear. Delphine Reist interrogates the absurd world of repetitive and senseless domestic work. The universes of the two artists and the radicality of their language, revolve around private, social and political themes in an alienating environment.
