François Couturier and Dominique Pifarély, leading figures in France’s creative music scene, reunite on "Préludes et Chansons". Nearly thirty years after Poros (ECM, 1997), this new album marks a reinvention of their duo: “The idea wasn’t to pick up where we left off, but to start from where each of us had arrived after this long hiatus,” explains Pifarély. “We had to listen carefully to our musical personalities, respect our respective paths, and find a way to bridge the gap between us.”
