Street Scripts Exhibition
Polomarco Gallery is proud to present Street Scripts, its first exhibition dedicated to urban art, bringing together two iconic figures: L’Atlas and Rafael Sliks.
Street Scripts offers a visual dialogue between two unique approaches to urban calligraphy, where letters fade away to become forms, transform into messages, and ultimately unfold into sensory experiences. A powerful reinterpretation of urban language through two distinct visions of street art.
L’Atlas, born Jules Dedet in 1978 in Paris, has developed a distinctive visual language where geometric abstraction meets calligraphic traditions. Trained by masters in Morocco and Egypt, he subverts the codes of writing to create enigmatic compositions that lie between cartography, labyrinths, and optical art. Inspired by duality and movement, he blurs the boundaries between letters and shapes, turning each piece into a space for reflection. His work is present both in public spaces and major institutions, establishing him as a leading figure in contemporary street art.
Rafael Sliks, born in 1981 in São Paulo, has been fascinated by graphic signs scattered throughout the urban landscape since childhood. He began with graffiti, covering the walls of his city before developing a distinctive abstract style blending calligraphy, color, and texture. Inspired by the chaos of cities and the serenity of nature, he transforms writing into a vibrant visual language—a medium of expression, protest, and beauty. His immersive compositions have transcended the streets of São Paulo and been exhibited in Miami, Berlin, Taiwan, Paris and many other places around the world.
