Fascinating ferns

Discover these incredible plants that appeared on Earth long before human beings

Gros plan d'une fougère

Ferns are plants whose fossils are very old. From tiny to gigantic, they have colonised many different environments, all without flowers nor seeds! Come and discover them in the Garden and in the greenhouses before making a colourful creation.

This workshop is part of the Geneva Botanic Garden Ateliers verts series. On Wednesday afternoons, children are invited to share our passion for the world of plants and botany in a fun and educational way. Themed investigations, sensory discoveries, botanical explorations, and many other activities are included in the programme. These workshops are carried out in the heart of our living collections by our curators, gardeners and scientists, in collaboration with volunteers from Uni3, Geneva's University for Seniors.
