At the age of thirteen, Shewit flees Eritrea alone. After three years of travel under extremely difficult and dangerous conditions, she arrives in Switzerland. In Geneva, she hopes for a fresh start and a life finally lived in freedom. Filmed over a ten-year period, the documentary accompanies Shewit through exile and the interminable wait for a residence permit. Caught between administrative precarity and the constant threat of deportation, her future remains dependent on the decisions of the Swiss authorities.
